I got an email from The Knot last week, to remind me that we only had 3 months to go until the wedding.
THREE MONTHS.
Where did the time go?
When my bestie had only 3 months to go until her July wedding, I remember being really jealous that her wedding was just around the corner. I worried about the things she hadn't finalised yet. I thought, how can she be cutting it so fine? Surely, when I have 3 months to go until my own wedding, all I'll have to do will be pack.
Idiot.
The invitations are not done yet. We (I) decided to DIY ours. And by DIY, I mean I timesucked an immeasurable amount of Shan's time and energy in helping to design them, due to me being Adobe Creative Suite- challenged. And by helping, I of course mean that I sat next to her and pointed at the things I did and didn't like. Loves you Shanny!
So, the design part is done for both the Irish and Aussie weddings. I have only printed, trimmed and glued the main part of the Aussie invitation. I also glued my fingers together. But at least I know those suckers aren't coming apart!
We've pretty much finalised the guest lists. Aussie wedding is looking like being 50 people, which is exactly what I wanted. 50 is the minimum for our venue, so we'll be paying for 50 whether that many attend or not. And I'd rather pay for missing seats than invite somebody that isn't family, or a friend that is like family.
Ireland is currently at 130... plus evening reception guests (but they don't cost us anything so that doesn't count). We originally budgeted for 100. However, we cut the soup course from our menu (who needs 4 courses anyway?? 3 is plenty!), so we aren't too far over budget.
On a side note... am I crazy for having my hen's night in Ireland 3 nights before the wedding?! I can't waiiiiit! Hen's night 30th December... then I'll be too hungover to drink too much on NYE, so I won't be hungover the day before the wedding, and then ready to drink again for the wedding on 2 January!

So exciting.
(If you need any internet helps!!)
Wow! It's so close now! So many wonderful fun times ahead! And you'd be crazy to have your hen's night the day before the wedding, but 3 days out seems like it allows for a reasonable amount of recovery time :) Sounds perfect!
Not long to go at all; think your hen do will be fine 3 days before as long as you dont have to get a lot done the day after!
